Change the atmosphere with a wave of prayer
The Vision...
The theme for last year’s cancelled Momentum was ‘Change the Atmosphere’ and, as we started to plan for this year, we decided to keep the title. However, this year we are not asking you to come to Momentum – instead, we are asking you to be Momentum, but with a difference! We are inviting you to join in a national ‘Wave of Prayer’. Do we dare to believe that, through prayer, God can change the atmosphere where we live? Our answer is a resounding ‘Yes’!

What is meant by ‘Change the Atmosphere?’
The title is inspired by the Rend Collective song, ‘Build your Kingdom here’. The song is a prayer offered to God that He would reign in us and we would seek His kingdom first and foremost. There is a task: ‘to see the captive hearts released, the hurt, the sick, the poor at peace’. And so as we come to the chorus, the fullness of the prayer is seen in seeking a change in the atmosphere as God’s kingdom is built:
Build Your kingdom here
Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand
Heal our streets and land
Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here, we pray
And so, the title ‘Change the Atmosphere’ is expressing the desire that the Kingdom of God will grow in our nation; that people will be healed and come to know the light of Jesus in their lives. As this happens the atmosphere in the places we live will be changed as the Kingdom of God is built. It is a wonderful vision and our privilege to be able to share in God’s work of redeeming His world.
The Momentum Wave of Payer – ‘Change the Atmosphere’
National Online Gathering 6.30pm Sunday 27th June
As the Wave of Prayer makes its way around Wales, we hope that you’ve had or will have an opportunity to pray in one of the 11 regional hubs around Wales. From North to South, East to West – God’s people have been gathering to pray.
If you haven’t yet managed to join in with the Wave of Prayer – it’s not too late!
On Sunday 27th June at 6.30 pm we are inviting churches across Wales to join with others for an online Momentum gathering to celebrate the wave of prayer, worship, pray and share stories to inspire us to continue to change the atmosphere where God has called us.
